Sauces...freezer style!

Amazing Marinara Sauce- you will never buy store-bought sauce again.

This recipe makes 6 jars of sauce with 6 servings per jar. Each jar (I like the the ziploc 4 cup jars) is filled with about 3 cups of sauce. 36 servings total.

8 (14.5oz) cans diced tomatoes with italian herbs

2 (6oz) can tomato paste

2 chopped onions

16 garlic cloves chopped

2 TBS olive or veggie oil

4 tsp sugar

3 tsp dried basil

2 tsp dried oregano

2 tsp pepper

1 tsp salt

Place all ingredients in crock pot and cook for 8-10 hours on low. When cool place in jars.

Sweet and Sour sauce- so yummy and easy too.

This recipe makes 6 jars of sauce at 6 servings each. Each jar is filled with about 1 heaping cup of sauce. 36 servings total.

2 cups packed brown sugar

4 TBS cornstarch

4 (8oz) cans crushed pineapple in juice (do not drain)

1 cup + 1/3 cup white vinegar

4 TBS soy sauce

1 cup chopped green bell pepper

Place all ingredients into crock pot and cook on low for 8 hours. Cool and then add to jars.

To make stir fry: simmer with bag of stir fry veggies until heated through. Serve over rice.

To make chicken or fish: Pour over chicken breast or boneless fish before or after cooking.

BTW you dont have to make the sweet and sour sauce in the crockpot. you can make this on the stove or you can shorted the cooking time in the crockpot if you will be freezing it.
